For instance your motor home policy could cover you for your personal belongings in case they were destroyed or stolen. As you will use your motorhome as a second home when taking a holiday in it you will have a great deal of your belongings with you. However you have to realise that insurance companies will only payout for personal belongings up to so much and up to so much for an individual item. Therefore if you are planning on taking items which are very expensive then you would have to make sure they would be covered.

Motor home cover should also include such items as awnings and gas bottles up to so much. You also need to check to see if windscreen damage is covered. Windscreens are usually covered but the insurance company will ask for an excess before they will payout. This excess will differ from the excess that is added into all insurance policies. If you want to make savings on the cost of the premiums then you could offer to pay more for the excess however this is a bit of a gamble because if you do have to claim on the policy this is the sum you have to find out of your own pocket.

You also need to check to see what level of cover you get if you should be involved in an accident. If the camper van should need repairing you would have to have alternative accommodation, your policy should provide you with this up to a certain amount. This amount would vary depending on the insurance provider. If your motor home was to be stolen and not recovered and if it was under one year old then check to see if the company would replace your motor home with a new one. The same could also apply to if the motor home was damaged and the repairs were going to cost over a percentage of the value of the motor home.

Of course there can also be many other additions to motor home cover so therefore go with a specialist website that can make a search on your behalf from the information you provide. This way you are able to compare from some of the cheapest quotes for policies all from the comfort of your own home.
